Hope Belongs in Dark Places
About Timshol Ministries
We teach and train indigenous men to take the gospel of Jesus into unreached villages, with the hope of raising up new believers in a New Testament church that exists for the glory and purposes of Jesus Christ.
As the church, we make known the glory of God not only through kerygma of the Word, but also in how we reflect His care for both the physical and spiritual needs of the community.

-
Lexical Form: πορεύομαι (poreuomai) - to go or to travel
-
Part of Speech: Aorist participle
-
Gender: Masculine
-
Number: Plural
-
Case: Nominative
-
Voice: Passive
Since it’s an aorist participle, poreuthentes suggests a completed or
singular action that is tied to the main verb of the sentence, which is
make disciples (mathēteusate).
It implies something like “having gone” or “as you go,” meaning the
act of going is presumed as a basis for the command to make disciples.
In essence, the participial form makes poreuthentes function as an
assumed context—disciple-making is to occur as the disciples are in
motion through life, as they naturally go out into the world.

Case: Accusative - acting as the direct object of the verb agapan, to love
Eleos refers to mercy or compassion, often in the sense of a heartfelt response that motivates action, particularly toward someone in need.
The phrase ἀγαπᾶν ἔλεος (agapan eleos) calls us to love mercy as a continuous, active expression of compassion—an essential part of living out our faith.
This call complements μαθητεύσατε (mathēteusate – “make disciples”) by proclaiming truth and embodying grace, mirroring the disciple-making mission while rooted in the same core purpose. Together, they reflect a faith that is both shared and shown, with mercy and discipleship flowing from a unified foundation to glorify God.
